In 1891 George Hamburger, maker of harnesses and saddles, hired Richard Phillips to design a three-story business block on four lots at the corner of 22nd Street and Arapahoe Street. This beautifully constructed building boasts an ornate metal cornice, modestly arched windows, and detailed brickwork. Hamburger’s three-bay cast-iron storefront was the first business to occupy the ground floor space.
Over time, a restaurant was installed on the first floor and the upper floors served as a hotel. In 1935 the building became the Paris Hotel and was operated by proprietor Paris Hargis and his wife until the mid-1950’s. After extensive renovations in the 1980’s by William Adams Design, a reborn Paris Hotel came to life offering updated restaurant space on the first floor and condominiums above.
Today, The Lobby Restaurant occupies the ground floor and seventeen loft condominiums above feature multi-level layouts, beautiful exposed brick, and a private courtyard for residents.
